Today I read Tell Me I'm Worthless for 43 minutes and 45 seconds. I'm 15% into the book so this is a fairly short book I should be done with in a week.
This is a strange book. It is written, at least this first chapter is, written in a stream of consciousness style from the perspective of this trans woman. She is haunted by the spirit of Morrisey from The Smiths, who haunt her every night, singing songs to her but never fully taking her life. She goes to a party, hooks up with a girl, and when she returns, the girl tells her to take down the poster because Morrisey is a racist. This angers Morrisey, who later in the night decide to try and kill the girl, and she freaks out and runs away.
It's an odd beginning to a book. I am intrigued, but I hope the whole book isn't written in this style, because I kinda hate stream of consciousness unless it's done super well and interestingly.
I am done with my university assignments finally...
I'm thinking I might stream Silent Hill 2 as my next stream game. It's new and it seems hip to try out. I guess I'm just a horror game streamer now. I guess that is fine. I also wanna stream the Resident Evil games after this one. October will be Spooktober.
Oh yeah, I did a stream this morning. The weekly stream. Alice came and we talked about Parkour Civilization. We also talked about Yuri and she pissed me off by pretending to know more about it than I did. I kinda hate talking to her about most things because she will often turn everything into a bit. Like the bit here was that she was some sort of "Yuri connoisseur" who had a higher standard of what constitutes as Yuri than I did, therefore making her a superior Yuri fan. I even tried to get her to talk about her favourite Yuri manga and she said some furry comic, which is not a manga. Then when I tried to call her out, she said I was the stupid one for thinking Yuri is only Japanese, which is NOT what I meant - All I meant was Yuri originates from Japanese manga and most fans of Yuri likes Japanese manga. Obviously, Alice didn't believe ANY of this, she was just fucking with me because she thinks it's funny to do that to me. But it just pissed me off and it wasn't funny to me.
That's kind of rude and she reads these diaries so I should be nicer to her. But yeah, that really annoyed me because I really like Yuri manga and stuff and I sincerely despise it when someone tries to imply I don't actually care about something I care about. One of my favourite things to do is just rambling on about something I like, and I don't like being challenged or confronted about the authenticity of my fixation. This is why I don't really get along with Alice, who is needlessly adversarial to me all the time for no reason because she either thinks it's funny to be annoying or she wants to be annoying so people will hit her which she likes. But I just don't like annoying people full stop. I don't get along with people who do bits all the time.
Anyway. Despite all of that we mostly get along. But it's not like you have to like everything about a friend you know. Sometimes they really piss you off and, personally, the solution I have in regards to Alice is to just ignore her when I start being bothered by her. Not giving attention is usually a good way to deal with it.
